“I enjoy painting my impression of our kaleidoscopic Mother Nature and aim to draw the viewer into the narratives, colours and patterns that surround us daily.”
Valerie Wheeler, 2022
Valerie has been painting since the early 1990’s after taking tuition in oils, watercolour and printmaking from several professional artists over three years and subsequently experimenting with varied mediums while studying art history at Deakin. Since then, she has had three solo shows and has participated in many group exhibitions in Melbourne, Hahndorf, Paris, Castlemaine, Geelong, Lorne and Birregurra.
Working mainly in watercolour, inks and acrylics, she is inspired by her own and her neighbours gardens and her eclectic collection of ceramics and textiles.
