“Over the years my work has ‘evolved’ into its own ‘freestyle’ art form, where my expression is not bound by traditional techniques or rules. It’s up to the viewer to have an open mind whilst interpreting the symbols and icons used.”
“I really enjoy using patterns and repetition and use heavy texture where possible. This has been appropriated from many native cultures globally and the natural world around me. Mediums used are acrylic and pen, sometimes including mixed media such of fabric and paper. Bold colour is a crucial element to my work.
In the last few years I have actively chosen to buy second hand canvases for sustainable reasons.
Since becoming a mother, I have collaborated with my 3 year old daughter as she begins or finishes the artwork, guided by her interpretations of where she thinks the painting should go.
I have exhibited at the Winter Gardens Geelong, Surf World Torquay, Woolgoolga Art Gallery as well as two solo exhibitions at cafe Moby Torquay.
Most recently my daughter Annabelle and I were awarded first prize at the Birregurra Art Show in the acrylics paint.”
