“I am a traditional tonal artist mainly working with oils. However, I also work in mixed media and collage, often evoking whimsical, dreamlike and gothic imaginings. As a tutor in The Art of Collage, I focus on the fundamentals of design and colour theory. When painting with oils my preferred genre is still life and portraiture working from life.
In Tribute to Frida there is a story that I hope resonates with women (in particular). Frida continued her creative journey through life with courage and strength despite trauma and personal disappointments.”
“Over many years I have practised and developed my art techniques, studying under respected tonalist tutors including at the Victorian Arts Society. Retirement has enabled me to concentrate on developing my art and exhibiting in group shows and exhibitions. I recently had successful exhibitions of mixed media, collage and oil paintings at Barwon Heads and in the Bellarine Arts Trail. I have received awards for mixed media and oil painting at Birregurra and on the Bellarine Peninsula.”
