Helena Boyd is a young painter, sculptor and writer based in Apollo Bay. She attends Apollo Bay P-12 College and is finishing Year 7.
Her work is often inspired by the Southern Ocean and the Otways; she also draws ideas from her camping travels with her family all around Australia.
Helena is self-taught, experimenting with sketching and painting since she was old enough to hold a pencil or a brush.
She is inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo, Yayoi Kasuma, Joy Hester, Kaws, and Mirka Mora.
She is currently enjoying exploring with different media like sculpture, watercolour, acrylics and oils as she develops her personal style.
Helena shares her work through school exhibitions and community art shows. She has previously exhibited works in the Apollo Art Show, Apollo Bay WORDfest, Red Room Poetry’s Poem Forest, and Apollo Bay Cup exhibition.
