“I grew up in Western Victoria on a farm, and I remember drawing and painting from a young age.
After retiring from my role as an art teacher I spent 5 years living in East Gippsland where I was surrounded by amazing scenery which inspired me to continue painting.
While there I was involved in the Bairnsdale Art Society.
More recently I have returned to Geelong and have joined the Geelong Art Society.
I have participated in many classes and workshops over the years, including with Jill Shalless, Maxwell Wilks and Cynthia Boyle.
After initially specialising in Watercolours I have discovered a love for pastels because of the vibrancy of the colours and the effects that can be achieved by blending colours together and layering one colour over another.
I am inspired by a range of subject matter including flora and fauna, portraits and local landscapes.
I have entered my pastel paintings in numerous art shows throughout Victoria and have won several prizes as a result.”
