Liz believed she didn’t have an artistic bone in her body until a pandemic resulted in a lot of spare time that had to be filled. Her “craftist” tendencies began with an online course in how to hand sew facemasks, basic watercolour painting, and some cooking sessions online.
Not wanting a house filled with lots of the same items, Liz went on to try acrylic painting, basketweaving, glass fusion, mosaics, origami and papercraft.
Slow Stitching is a favourite, as it hasn’t required intricate techniques to be learnt and is enabling Liz to use up old clothes, tablecloths and excessive material scraps collected!
Recent success with exhibitions include awards at Surfcoast Arts Postcards exhibition 2022/23, Surfcoast Arts Calendar 2024, and category award for Mixed Media at Birregurra Arts Show 2023.
