“I was thrilled to have won both 2nd prize in the acrylic painting category and people’s choice award in this year’s Birregurra Art Show. This is the first time I have won a prize for my artwork and appreciate the recognition.
‘Airing – exposure to fresh air’ is a painting of a tablecloth that belonged to my mother. I like to paint objects that have a meaning, represent a memory, or have a story to them. The objects can be textural, particularly fabrics such as a tablecloth or clothing, things with a family history or just an object I like. Composition and colour are also important elements of my paintings.
