“My creative journey began many years ago when I owned a toy shop. It gave me the opportunity to collect ventriloquist dolls. And vintage toys.
But in need of something different to photograph, and craving something more artistically challenging, I decided to unpack some of my collection. And so began my Playful Art journey.
These days I consider myself more of a photographic artist than a photographer. It started with a camera of course (my 50’s) but it’s evolved into so much more of late (my 60’s) that I barely have a minute to spare! Photographer. Writer. Stylist. Hairdresser. Seamstress. Set designer. The mind boggles!
I compete locally, nationally and internationally and I’ve won a number of medals and awards to date. In 2019 I won the Major Prize at the Birregurra Art Show. And it was the first time a photograph had won the Major Prize in the show’s 20 year history. That win has been so wonderful for me as an artist. I now have a writing coach. A publishing coach. A greeting card business. And a website. But most of all I have this weirdly wonderful journey that I’m on.
And I’m loving every minute of it!”
